My name is Ann Marie and I have been doing needlework for 45 years! It has always been a form of therapy for me. Needlework has been that one constant in my life, that has been there for me. It is my “go to” when I am stressed. It has been there for me at every stage of my life! Some of us use many other activities as an outlet for stress. Some may use exercise, running, binge watching TV, or shopping as their therapy. Or on the negative side some may reach for cigarettes, alcohol or worse- drugs to help them cope. But as for me, I reach for my needle and thread. I feel that it is a form of meditation. There is something about the movement of the in and out of the fabric that is calming. I get in that "zone", where I feel good and relaxed. I let my mind wander, and watch where my thoughts travel.

I started when I was 15 years old. I remember my very first piece I finished! It was a needlepoint project. It was a cute little brown monkey holding a banana. I felt so accomplished with that little project! It was then that my love affair for anything to do with needle and thread began! Now I am creating a business with my love of needlework. My idea is to create a pattern that corresponds with the subject of the blog. So look for a new pattern coming soon with the subject of

"what my mind looks like on needlework!"

Until next time!

Ann Marie
